I know this might sound stupid lol but whats the best way to launch a Banshee? And especially if its on Alky

I have a LTR-450 and i can launch it like no tomorrow all day long and not skip a beat...


I try to launch my banshee and its hit or miss....If i could just get the damn Launch i wouldnt have to try to play catch up all the time. Iv'e heard you rev it till your ready to rock n roll, i heard you blurp it a few times, get the akly out and then launch it..I heard you just sit there and pray it goes hahaha...


I want to be able to come out of the hole with this damn bike....Every now and then, i will find the happy medium and come out of the hole but 80% of the time i fail to launch it properly.

My setup is 7MM on alky /+12 Swinger/ 11Paddle Haulers

maybe u are geared to much!..maybe its fat on bottom end..maybe to big oh paddles..could be alot of things..but you sure have a good lookin bike...anyway what gearing u running?,,7mil?..cub.stock cyl,dm which one?..

Looks like a cub from here. we run 14 paddle extremes with a 10 over swinger and 15-40 gearing. Clean it out and hold on.

If your not running a wheelie bar, your gonna have to blip the throttle a couple of times and to keep the revs up for when you let out on the clutch. If your running a bar, you can just hold the throttle open a little or near WFO, depending on what your engine likes. Also, making sure the carbs are sync'd are very important for launching imo.

i thinking might need more paddle?

so do i just blip the motor, get clear all the alky...then just smash it when the the light turns green or the hands go down?...

on the LTr, i keep it revved out and just ride it out....with the banshee, i always bog down right off the bat...i just wonderin what the hell im doing wrong hahaha..i plan on getting more seat time this weekend...

thats alot of gear for a 7mill how far are u racing?

you launch in 1st or 2nd and whats your weight?..i run same gear on stck cyl 4mil but launch in 1st gear and launchs hard..but wanna try 15-44 and launch in 2nd to see if it helps my times..

i launch in 2nd...2-5 override...

we race usually about 300 ft or so...

Theres times when it pulls out of the hole like a mad man...then others i just bog to [censored]...its hit or miss...i know more seat time for sure...


the bike is tuned and ready to run...

you never posted rider weight, possibly youre right on the edge of to tall a gear and depending on seating position your weight is loading the drive axle differently, make sure you sit in the same spot every time

i weight around 185 to 190 lbs...

It seems to me that dune drags are more like 450 ft than 300. I think you need more paddles but if your bogging thats not your 11 paddle haulers. All 2 strokes need "cleaned out" before you launch but even more so with alky. I would say first step is make sure it sounds nice and crisp before you launch. But then rev it to the moon (making sure it doesn't go lean) and launch

With your weight a 16-44 is too much gear unless you have the clutch setup specifically for that.You would almost have to use an asphalt setup. Put a 15 on the front and let it rock and roll.

clean it out good.. i learned that ... took to about half track before it cleaned out ,then it was haulin butt... but felt like i left in 4th gear .

2nd pass and rev'ed it up good and it launched hard........ my lil 4 mil is all are nothing

im runnin a 15-41 on a +10 swingarm

thats what im running also and seems to work out just fine. But she has to be cleaned out for sure.

gear it down..

its a 2 stroke it dosent make any power untill over 7500 rpm your 4 poke has TQ you can't launch it the same as your fart can bike.

you need to clean out the pipes and time your launch with a good spot on the bikes rpm's for launching if you just hold it wide open and revvvvvvvv v v v v v vv v v v v v vv v vvvvvvvv v vv vv its kinda hard on everything and you run the bike into overrev and can loose power when you drop the hammer.. m if yo uhave a weird engine combo there may be something going on there also.
