haha. I just got off the phone with him. He said the Extreme Transmission comes in 1-5, with the option of neutral down, or stock location, or 2-5. He said you can't get rid of 1st, and keep 2nd-6th. It has to be 1st-5th, or 2nd-5th. The Extreme Transmissions also comes standard with the shift drum bearing mod. He highly recommended the Level-2 Undercut. In the long run, it will hold up alot better, and be much more stronger. The Extreme can be run just like a stock transmission, with downshifting and backloading the gears, without any problems. Sounds like a winner to me.

Gotcha...good to know. I wasn't aware they weren't coming with 6th gear.
That doesn't surprise me thought...the full 6 speeds are tempermental at best.

So what kind of cost are we looking at? I'm probably gonna end up with a 1-5 since I do a lot of play riding also.

Shouldn't be...
I think they're around 500 or so with your good core. And he will inspect your shift forks.

I know he was offering specials for a little while, like if you had a dunable cut by him he would convert it for cheap.
I think I could have mine converted for 150 back in November or December.
Not sure if he's still running that special/deals or not.

No, it's not a secret. Just the tranny is 475, and with the level 2 undercut it's 625. That's with the core. Andy carries the 1-5/N-down, level-2 undercut trannies in stock. If you want N in the stock position, and/or the standard undercut, your core has to be sent to WCR to be cut. Which obviously takes a little more time to get back.

No offense to anyone...for that price, it should come with a longer warranty than 6 months and I'll keep a spare on the shelf.

Bingo, curious if this one is 'harder' to cut or takes longer or if it's just that high because it's new. Maybe I'll just get one of the 'ol regular duneables and see if it gets trashed.

I am quite certain it takes much longer to cut and there is more detail to it.
Standard overrides are a pain to cut...you have to weld on the shift drum, cut it and cut the gears.
Plus...he has a warranty for them, something pretty much unheard of so that has to be built into it.

I'm not saying it's not worth it...I'm just saying at that price it's not for me for what I do.

Did you ever get one put in your bike? I might have asked you this on HQ I can't remember who's had one and who hasn't.

Nah. After seeing all the bad news about them, I got a little scared. I've spoke to Andy a couple times, and he says Greg fixed the bug. I'm back to watching right now, and see if they break any more. If they hold up, then I'll be purchasing one.

Same here, and I've been talking to Andy too the past few days. He said Greg promised him the new one won't break. He said the few bikes that have them in are doing fine. I told him I might throw one in and give it a real test on a 4mil cub in the dunes. I'm still not convinced Greg did good R&D on them once they were built, and I hate for it to be my $625 doing it.

Yea, I know man. It's perfect for me, since my bike is an all-around bike. I even hit the trails with it. Pretty fun riding a 10mil Cheetah in the trails. lol.

I put in a 1-4 m5 and m6 extreme dunable this spring. Only have had it out for memorial and then some around home testing stuff. So far its worked great. i ride it like normal (except you can not down shift while not under power). i'm a fan i wanted to do 1-5 with m6 but greg said you couldn't cut that. the bike is making some pretty good power and is ridden all over in the sand dunes.

One one of the forums a member was trying to tell me they had a dunable with 5 and 6 both manual...and I was like...uh...I don't think so.
Oh well.

The Extreme is a good idea, just should've had more R&D behind it.
It hosed and angered a lot of people....

Ive been wanting a Dunable tranny for awhile and was reading some of the post on here so I went with Gregs Extreme 1-5 N down from WCR. His price was pretty fair compaired to some of the others. I had it out today just to go through the gears alittle, shifted like butter like some of you had said they do, I was on dirt so yea the tires never really hooked. I cant wait to bolt the paddles on and let'er rip, the bike should be a whole different machine. :thburnout:
