Is there a company that cuts a 1-6, or even a 1-5M6 duneable override for a Banshee? I don't want a full override, since I do hit the off-road scene, and I do backload the gears alot.

I tried WCR, and Wicked Motorsports. This is straight off their sites,

You can also now get their new extreme dunable with the most backload protection. Just call Andy at M&M Atv and you'll have a WCR trans in 2 days, he keeps those in stock. No wait.

WCR has a completely new style tranny that will be great for you. They call it the "Extreme Duneable Override". It's not like the Duneable overrides offered in the past. It can be backloaded just like a stocker. I'm not talking about "a little backloaded if you don't pull the clutch in fast enough". I'm talking about a trans that can be MX raced, TT Track,GNCC, Drag, the works. Full up [censored]s and downshifts. You can't get it with a 6th gear, but you can get almost anything else. I got mine in a 2-5 neutral down. WCR isn't setting any speed records with the delivery cause they have a TON of demand. But nobody else is doing this cut, It'd toaly different from the normal override cut. So for now, it you want the latest, greatest trans design you'll have tpo place your order and wait a little bit. Call Greg at WCR and tell him I said HI.

I've been hearing a little about these. FAST racing is supposed to be selling them also. Anybody have any pricing? Jeff was saying like $500?

I have a WCR 1-5 duneable going on it's 5th season. The first two seasons it was in a duner and I backloaded and downshifted the crap out of it. It has now been in a drag bike for two seasons and good to go for a 5th. I have never even changed out a shift fork. When I bought this tranny he told me to ride it however I want. What changed? Did he have a few failures and decide to tell people not to backload them? And now he wants more money for a "true duneable"?

Awesome. Thanks for all the info on that new cut. I'll call Andy, and see if he has one in stock.

John, you said you can't get it with a 6th gear. Is that no 6th at all, or manual 6th? Tell you the truth, I use 6th quite often.

The Duneable Sheefreak has is the original style. (it can wear the shift forks over time) It was a race cut override with springs on the shift forks to keep pressure on them so they didn't jump out of gear. This "EXTREME" (and it has to be called "EXTREME" to be the one I'm talking about) has different cuts (it still acts like a race cut override) but the springs are on the gears instead of the shift forks. That way the forks only see load when shifting (just like a stock trans) You can backload it as hard as you would a stocker. It's the ultimate trans....stock strength with override upshifts AND downshifts. But don't be confused....Unless they are a WCR dealer....they don't have THIS duneable override. It HAS to be the new EXTREME DUNEABLE OVERRIDE from WCR. Because he puts springs between the gears, he has to remove 6th gear. So you can't get 6th. But unless you NEED 6th you can just adjust your gearing so you won't miss 6th. I was only using first for about a bike length before shifting....every launch on dirt or sand was in second...so I took out the first gear and went with the neutral down. So now all the way down is neutral and one click up is second. He said withour first gear in the trans the tranny is stronger overall because of the overall gear sizes. But you CAN get it with 1st gear and if you do you should be able to run one more tooth up front and almost never miss 6th. But you would know your gear needs better than me....

Ok. I got what you're saying. That helps out alot. That's something that I'll need to think about then. I use my bike for hillclimbs, play dragging, and some aggressive(fast) trail riding. I'd like to buy an override, so I can shift going up hills, without losing momentum. I do use 1st every once in a while, if I end up finding myself on a tight trail. Plus, I'm thinking about trying 1/8 mile asphalt some this summer. I know I'm not geared enough for that. Right now I have 16/39, and run out of gear way before 1/8 mile is up. I might end up going with the style you got, the N-down 2-6 tranny. I'm just curious how launching in 2nd gear with taller gears will pull down on my motor.I should be alright, if I take some of the weight off my lockout though. I have a powervalved Cheetah 10mil, that's been ported by Andy. It should pull through a 2nd gear launch. I hope, anyway.

With that motor you should be able to pull end gear launches with pretty high gearing. You might try Nate Mccoy at Mccoys Perf and see what he can do for you on one he's a super good guy and is a WCR dealer too I believe. I'd bet Andy has the tranny you'll want.

How do I get into contact with Greg? I tried to email him, by using the link on his website, and it said the server doesn't recognize the address. The last time I tried to call him, I left a message, and he never called me back.

Incorrect. There is more to a dunable than just springs between the forks.
I have the same tranny.

The problem is people saw dunable override and they thought that meant "trail" override...and it doesn't.
The dunables don't really wear the forks out if backloaded, they score the shaft and cause the area the fork rides on to "groove" into the gear shaft.

On one hand, I want to get an Extreme just to see how different it is (for those that run ice, 1/8 mile or 1/4 mile 6th gear opens up more options and makes it easier for smaller motors to pull gearing they need)...however, I'm in the same boat as sheefreak.
I have the same 1-5 N down dunable going on it's 4th year of abuse, same forks....and it still shifts like butter.

I really can't justify fixing what ain't broke....and I only run 300 feet, so 2-5 is all I need.

I would also suggest you find one of his dealers that has it on their shelf.

WCR does cut a nice tranny. His speed, communication and turn around times are not the greatest, as said.

Get 1-6. No reason not to use it...
I have a 1-5, only need 2-5 but...it doesn't cost any extra and if you run a longer distance and need to run tall gearing, you can use first!

I'm kinda lost, at your first sentence. You saying WCR makes a 1-6 "extreme" duneable?

He's not calling it a dunable...that I know of.
It's being called the Extreme Transmission and I'm pretty sure it has all 6 gears.

However...I am not for 100% certain on that, and Andy @ M&M could probably answer that.
He had some of the firsts, I believe...and probably has the most use/time on them.
