burn piston

we took the head out of my friend banshee and he got a hole on top of the piston,,,bad gaz,,detonation ,,lean ??? etc etc thankss,by the way is a mild port banshee ,4 degree timing,stock carb,360 jet,30 pilot,4 clip..045 squish,135 comp ,sst pipes,k&n filter,,,,thanksss

could be a combination of all...at 135 comp 91 pump im assuming is what he is burning in it and shouldnt cause detonation as far as bad gas, pump gas will last for months, 4 deg would be right on timing for his set up, I would be leaning towards a lean condition to cause the hole, elevation and or temp.

Fmf SST pipes have a super tight reducer in stinger, i believe its 15-16 mm diameter for about an inch. that too will create alot of heat on piston top.

Something no one else has asked..... how cold was it outside when it holed the piston?

The main "SHOULD" be ok, if it holed the piston puling a small load like up an incline, then it may need the needles changed or adjusted.

Cracked intake boot, or air leak like J-Madd said
slow 421 dragger, duner banshee, 310R duner
Wife's 370R Fastest true gas Pro-X Honda 4.29 in sand 4.17 in dirt 300ft on a dune chassis.

good idea i'll chek for air leak somewhere and the temperature was like -20 outside it was very cold that day thanksss

in canada we ran all year long summer,winter ect etc we jet for the temperature lol lol lol
