they vary. just think about how wonderfull the assembly process is at the factory..

all you really need to know is they suck. whip out the degree wheel and just measure a set. the base gasket thickness can vary them as wel as tolerances in piston, rod and cylinder,
unless i'm writing a BOOK and YOUR paying me i dont have to tell you nothin

If its 0 deck heigth. 110 rods and stock stroke. Then,

Exhaust - 185*
Trans - 120*
Boost - 114*

Kinda what I thought. I used a protractor and traced it to paper. Cut a hole in the middle. And boom. Degree wheel. Set the wheel at 0* at the top of what ever port your measuring. Roll it through BDC and record it when it closes the port your measuring. And there's your duration.

The length of the rod will need to come into play, as well as the piston/cylinder relationship (deck height) to figure port durations.

Not really as cut and dried as a simple chart....

There's a software program that was floating around that would do the calc's for you if you input the proper information.

I've got a spreadsheet setup to do my calc's....

Rog

is this a one time thing your doing for a friend or you plan to have more clientel ? im finding it odd you doing work for other folks but dont have the proper eqiupment on hand. might be your first and last customer if you wont even add a degree wheel to your tool box lol. it takes money to make money. seen a set of old cases and crank shaft on ebay. was $300 i think. can bolt all you future customers jugs to that and atleast give the impression your a professional business

oh wow sorry i have to..

if you have already done a bucnh of motors and they all scream and work great why do you need to know stock port durations? if you only do ss stock rod 350 banshee motors then you dont really need the stock measurements?.

seems the stock port durations are up there a few posts so what else do you need to know? the programs are really needed for that reason i love to be able to do an entire motor and degree it all in. but its not going to happen every time.. and also you can use the program to figure if an existing port job will work with differnt rod/ stroke combo's and what they may have efect wise on squish, deck height and other factors..
unless i'm writing a BOOK and YOUR paying me i dont have to tell you nothin
